I felt so fortunate to be able to return to Hong Kong and present at the 14th Asian Cinema Studies Society Conference at the University of Hong Kong with my esteemed colleague friends, who never cease to impress me with their research!

“This panel looks at variations on Asian American cinema in the 21st century. Ranging from karaoke clips to experimental, documentary and narrative films, it examines the many iterations of Asian American voices and depictions, exploring the significance of the moving image in shaping and reflecting Asian American experiences. Though rooted in Asian America, the panel explores connections beyond the U.S. border in order to frame the films in relation to broader global perspectives.”
