Seeing my two films together, made 20 years apart, reminded me of the ongoing practice of peace in one’s own life, and toward others. Audience discussions reflected the challenge of prioritizing non-violence, especially on the world stage with actors who may too quickly resort to violence. Based on the director’s family memory and Asia’s war history, this short film [What We Never Forget For Peace Here Now] is a tender and thought-provoking reflection of our time. It takes us through the tears and prayers of the past, in Asia, America, and beyond.
